Day 1: Travel to Kidepo Valley National Park – visit Nyero rock paintings en-route

Your wild safari begins when you set off for the remote north-eastern region – the location of Kidepo Valley National Park. You will visit the ancient Nyero rock paintings en-route. Once you arrive at the park, you will check in at a lodge of your choice. Because of its remote and distant location from the capital, you will reach the park in the late evening.

Day 2: Game drive in Narus Valley – cultural encounter with the native Karamojong

The day will begin with a game drive in the Narus Valley, a wildlife hub in Kidepo. You will spot several wildlife including; elephants, jackals, bushbucks, duikers, bush pigs, buffaloes, ostriches, leopards, and lions which are normally seen sitting on the valley’s massive rocks. Later in the afternoon, you will embark on cultural tour – a visit to the native Karamojong community.

Day 3: Hiking through the Lomej mountains – birding excursion in the park

The day will begin with a hiking excursion through the Lomej mountains. You will walk through the Narus Valley and meet the IK tribe. Later in the day, you will embark on a birding excursion at Apoka Rest Camp and the fringes of the Narus and Namamukweny valleys.

Day 4: Encounter the Kanangarok Hot springs – return to Kampala – end of safari

Before setting off on your journey back to Kampala, you will drive out to the extreme north of the park to explore Kanangarok, a tepid hot spring, and the most permanent source of water in the park. Your safari will end when your guide drops you at a location of your choice in Kampala.
