17 Days Exclusive Tour to East Africa
Safari/tour includes: Gorilla tracking in Bwindi, chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest, village walks, forest walks and other activities that are mentioned in the itinerary. This tour is for the Primate lovers!!!
Day 1: Arrival - Kampala.
Arrival at Entebbe Airport where you will be welcomed by Able Safaris representative and transferred to your hotel. Overnight at Cassia Lodge. BB
Day 2: Kampala - Kibale National Park.
After a relaxed breakfast we will transfer to Fort Portal rests in the shadow of the fabled “Mountains of the Moon” and is famous for the many tea plantations. From this lovely town we will continue to Kibale National Park, while passing the region of the Crater Lakes. Here we will explore some small lakes, before heading to our accommodation for tonight. Dinner and overnight at Kyaninga Lodge.
Day 3: Chimp trekking & Bigodi Swamp
Today the forest opens its doors for a sensational chimp tracking. Kibale Forest is reputable of having the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in East Africa. Enjoy a guided nature walk in the tropical rainforest in search of the wild chimpanzee, red-tailed monkey, black-and-white colobus monkey and many others. After a hearty lunch we transfer to the Bigodi Swamp for another, totally different nature walk. The Bigodi Swamp Walk is an initiative of the local community and is known for its rich diversity of birds and primates. Dinner and overnight at Kyaninga Lodge.
Day 4: Kibale forest N.P - Bwindi National Park
After breakfast you will transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park while driving through a verdant countryside, you will pass traditional homesteads and enjoy panoramic views. In the afternoon arrival in Bwindi National Park, home of the endangered mountain gorillas. Dinner and Overnight at either Engagi Lodge/Ruhija Gorilla Lodge/Nkuringo Gorilla Camp.
Day 5: Gorilla tracking
Looking in the eye of the gorilla will be the highlight of the whole safari! Especially hikers will love the tracking in the beautiful ecosystem of the park. Expect to walk a long distance in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead, before you encounter any gorillas. But it will definitely be worthwhile as you observe them closely while they eat, play and rest. A unique and unforgettable experience! Dinner and Overnight at either Engagi Lodge/Ruhija Gorilla Lodge/Nkuringo Gorilla Camp.
Day 6: Bwindi - Lake Mburo
After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Mburo for an overnight stop over. Dinner and Overnight at Mihingo Lodge.
Day 7: Lake Mburo - Entebbe Airport
Drive to the Airport ready to catch your Flight to Arusha Tanzania. On arrival in Nairobi, met and assisted. Transfer to Impala Hotel for the night on bed and breakfast.
Day 8: Arusha / Ngorongoro Crater
Pick up from your hotel in Arusha. Drive to Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area crossing on the way the small villages of MtoWaMbu and Karatu with unique views of the high altitude rain forest surrounding the ring. Dinner & overnight at Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge, B,L,D
Day 9: Ngorongoro Crater
Descend down to the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the wonders of the natural world. An extinct volcano that collapsed around 25 million years ago thus forming a vast super bowl where the largest permanent concentration of African game is on display. The views from the top of the crater wall are absolutely breathtaking which are forested but four wheel drive vehicles will take you down into this primeval paradise of woodland, lake, river, swamp and plain that shelters around 20,000 animals. Large grazing animals such as wildebeest, buffalo, gazelle and zebra that depends on the open grasslands in the crater.Attracting predators, the black-maned lion, the leopard and hyena. The elephant found are the lone males. The Fever Tree forests shelter monkeys, bushbuck and waterbuck and the few black rhino that have taken refuge here. A soda lake attracts water birds, including flamingoes and is a favourite place for predators to make their kill. Wildly beautiful as it is, it is not surprising that Ngorongoro Crater has been called a Garden of Eden. The game drives are done with packed lunch. In the evening, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at the Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge, B,L,D.
Day 10: Ngorongoro / Serengeti
After breakfast, proceed to Serengeti National Park, arriving in time for lunch and siesta. Serengeti has breathtaking vista of a landscape teeming with game. Big game feed in full view of in this park. There will be an afternoon game viewing with a return to the lodge in the evening at Seronera Wildlife Lodge set high on a hill with breathtaking vista of a landscape teeming with game. Big game feed in full view of the lodge itself. The lodge design is simple but stunning, inspired by a traditional African Village. The lodge is rich in local atmosphere created by indigenous handicrafts and art. Dinner and overnight at Ikoma Safari Camp. B,L,D
Day 11: Serengeti
Full day to explore the world's largest migratory concentration of plain game. Serengeti is described as one of the unique areas of the world. The 14000 sq. km terrain includes grassy plains and savannah stretches dotted with flat topped acacia trees. In the north Serengeti borders with the world famous Masai Mara Game Reserve and across this border one million Wildebeest trek every year in their annual search for the best grazing. Day 12: Serengeti / Isebania / Masai Mara
After breakfast, drive across the Kenya/Tanzania border at Isebania and proceed to Masai Mara Game Reserve. Masai Mara is arguably the world's most famous game reserve with unrivalled natural beauty and wildlife concentration. It forms part of the Great Mara-Serengeti ecosystem. It is home to all the big five (elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, and the rhino). Over 95 species of mammals are found in this great reserve. Day 13: Masai Mara
Spend the day in Masai Mara with game drives in the park. All meals and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge, B,L,D
Optional activities at extra cost:
1. Visit to a Maasai cultural manyatta to learn about the local community's culture and traditions - US$ 25 per person
2. Early morning hot air balloon ride touching down for a champagne breakfast in the bush - US$ 450 per person
Day 14: Masai Mara/Nairobi/Mombasa
After breakfast depart to Nairobi and transfer to the airport for a scheduled departure flight to Mombasa. On arrival, met and assisted. Transfer to Hillpark Hotel, Tiwi Beach on all inclusive accommodation basis, B,L,D (Optional direct flight from Masai Mara to Mombasa, add $240 per person).
Day 15-16: Mombasa
Spend the days on leisure and relaxation at the beach on own. All inclusive accommodation at Hill park Hotel, Tiwi Beach, B,L,D.
Day 17: Mombasa/Nairobi/Departure
Today, transfer to the airport for your scheduled flight from Mombasa back to Nairobi to connect with your departure flight back home, B.
