12 Days Uganda and Kenya


Day 1 – Nairobi
On arrival at Nairobi International Airport our representative will transfer you to the hotel for overnight in a bed and breakfast basis, Fairview Hotel (C) or Oakwood Hotel (E). BB


Day 2 – Nairobi - Amboseli
After breakfast, you drive through the Athi and Kapiti Plains past the town of Namanga and arrive in time for lunch in Amboseli National Park. In the afternoon you will go for game drive and explorations of this park, which is so famous for the numerous herds of elephants as well as the spectacular view of Mount Kilimanjaro, in Tanzania. Other animals present in the park are the giraffes, the zebras, wildebeest, impala, caracal, lions, leopards, cheetah and buffaloes to say some of them. You have dinner and overnight at OlTukai Lodge – AmboseliSopa Lodge (C) or camping (E). FB


Day 3 – Amboseli National Park
Today you enjoy the full day of game drives in the national park, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The lunch, dinner and overnight at the same lodge, OlTukai Lodge – Amboseli Sopa Lodge (C) or camping (E). FB


Day 4 – Amboseli - Lake Nakuru
After breakfast drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. You will stop over for lunch in Nairobi. Enjoy an evening game drive in this small game and bird-filled park, famous for its population of flamingoes, rhinos, leopards, lions, giraffes. As you drive to the hills surrounding the park, you can enjoy a stunning panoramic view of the lake. Dinner and overnight at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge – Nakuru Lodge (C) or camping site (E). FB

Day 5 – Maasai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast, continue the journey past the Maasai town of Narok to the legendary Maasai Mara National Reserve – to many, the jewel and highlight of the safari expedition. Lunch. Enjoy an afternoon game drive returning to your lodge or camping for dinner and overnight, Mara Sopa - Sarova Mara - Keekorok Lodge - Mara Serena (C) or camping site (E). FB


Day 6 – Maasai Mara National Reserve
A full day in the Mara with game drive early morning and late afternoon, each of about 3 hours. This is where millions of wildebeest cross the Mara River from the Serengeti National Park of Tanzania to the Maasai Mara Game Reserve of Kenya - an annual spectacular event, which brings along thousands of plains game and predators to the Mara. From June to October the migration is from Kenya to Tanzania, while from November to May is from Serengeti to Masaai Mara. However, the phenomenon is more linket to the actual changes of weather. All meals and overnight as above. FB


Day 7 – Maasai Mara - Nairobi
An early morning game drive in the Mara is followed by breakfast and thereafter, return to Nairobi to arrive by mid afternoon. Lunch enroute. Transfer to the airport for your flight connection to Uganda
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, we shall welcome you and transfer to the hotel in Kampala for overnight in BB, Protea Hotel (C) or Capitol Palace (E). HB


Day 8 – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After early breakfast, drive Southwards to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The journey is long, about 8 hours drive, however it is rewarding as you pass though the Ugandan papyrus swamps, the forests and savannah. You will see the coffee and banana plantations as well as the hills of the Ankole region where the characteristic Ankole cattle with their long horns are found. Lunch in Mbarara. Arrival in the afternoon to the National Park, for dinner and overnight at Bwindi Gorilla Resort – Mantana Bwindi Camp – Nkuringo Lodge (C) or Buhoma Community – Travellers Hotel (E), according to the location of the gorilla permits. FB


Day 9 – Mountain Gorillas tracking
After breakfast and briefing from the rangers of UWA, set off for the gorilla tracking in the rain tropical forest sanctuary. You shall be prepared with trekking boots and light rain coat, and bring with you packed lunch. The time you will spend in search for the habituated family is not predictable. You will have one hour for observing and taking photographs after you have reached the gorillas. Dinner and overnight in the same lodge. FB


Day 10 – Lake Bunyonyi
After breakfast you drive through the Kigezi region, with its cultivated hills, to Kabale town and then Lake Bunyonyi. Lunch. In the afternoon relax in the lodge or take a boat ride inside the lake to explore its nature and the small islands. The inhabitants of the area are the Bakiga, whose culture is expressed by many stories and legends over the lake and even you can visit the cultural museum in Kabale. Dinner and overnight at Arcadia Cottages or Jajama Panorama or Heritage Lodge Habuharo. FB


Day 11 – Lake Mburo National Park
After early breakfast the journey proceed back to Kampala. It is worthy a visit of Lake Mburo National Park, the smallest in Uganda, which is concentrated around the lake Mburo. You can have lunch there as well as an explorative game drive, in search for the beautiful impalas, zebras, cape buffalos, elands, oribi and many other antelopes. Dinner and overnight in Kampala, Protea Hotel (C) or Capitol Palace Hotel (E). FB
Optional: in case the next day you have a late flight and you wish to spend more time in Lake Mburo, then you might be interested to sleep at Mihingo Lodge, with the corresponding supplement.


Day 12 - Depart
Reserved to the departure from Entebbe International Airport. BB
